TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB

WITH SPECIAL GUESTS LAST DINOSAURS & THE CREASES

Presented by Secret Sounds and The Music

Today, Two Door Cinema Club announce 3 special shows in Australia to coincide with their appearance at Splendour In The Grass festival.

This headline tour follows the release of the band’s third studio album ‘Gameshow’, released via Parlophone late last year

The three school mates have a solid love affair with Australia that has continued to amplify with the release of their new awesome album. Back with an all new vigor, swagger and confidence, fans will be treated to their signature electro-tinged indie-pop tunes in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth this July.

Recorded in Topanga Canyon, California with renowned producer Jacknife Lee (REM, U2, Bloc Party), ‘Gameshow’ sees the band challenge themselves to indulge in a wide and varied range of styles and influences, stretching way beyond the traditional Two Door sound to take in the likes of Prince, Chic, Krautrock, Neo Soul and modernist pop. Bringing forth the singles ‘Are We Ready? (Wreck)’, ‘Bad Decisions’ and ‘Lavender’, the new album exhibits the sound of a band back in their stride, with a creative fire in their loins and a whole new centred sense of purpose.

Triple j darlings, Last Dinosaurs will take on main support duties with their shimmering slices of indie-guitar pop, sunset solos & promises of some brand new material in the set.

Having toured extensively through Europe, Asia and Africa, playing to sold-out crowds in Australia and performing blistering sets at Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival,

they are guaranteed to have you tearing up the dance floor.

Fellow Brisvegas kids, The Creases, will also be joining the massive bill. From recording songs in their basement to support slots for Franz Ferdinand and PEACE to playing some of the UK’s biggest festivals including Liverpool Sound City, Live at Leeds and The Great Escape, The Creases will be bringing their infectious flair, and buzzed-out rock vibes straight to the stage.

TOVE LO

Presented by Secret Sounds

Known for her free spirit and incendiary live performances, Swedish song bird Tove Lo has made a name for herself as a critically acclaimed, Grammy nominated multi-platinum artist. Surpassing 1 billion streams and 1 million album sales in the US she has been deftly penning hit tracks for herself and others top artists for more than a decade. Her latest album Lady Wood, featuring the impossibly catchy hit single ‘Cool Girl’, is perhaps the strongest statement to grace an album title in a long time. Candidly singing about desire, love, sex and a strong demand for equality, Tove Lo is unapologetic, rebellious and raw….proudly rewriting the rules of pop-star engagement.

Not only is she an established star in her own right, she has also featured on a stack of chart-topping hits; ‘Close’ with Nick Jonas, Flume’s ‘Say It’, ‘Desire’ with Years & Years, Alesso’s ‘Heroes’, Broods’ ‘Freak of Nature’ and Coldplay’s ‘Fun’.

RAG’N’BONE MAN

Presented by Secret Sounds

The prodigiously talented Rory Graham, better known as Rag‘n’Bone Man, has injected an exciting new twist into the blues music he grew up with in East Sussex. Combining it with the beats and production methods of contemporary hip hop, Rag’n’Bone Man resurrects age-old themes of loss and romantic pain with a voice so immediate, raw and expressive that it transfixes anyone in earshot with its sheer size and elemental power.

He makes his Australian debut at Splendour this year, and with the velocity that his single ‘Human’ took over the radio waves (his album sharing the same name is also out now), we expect tickets to his Sydney and Melbourne shows to sell out in no time.

MAGGIE ROGERS

Presented by Secret Sounds and triple J

Maggie Rogers has announced her first ever headlining shows in Australia with performances in Sydney and Melbourne. The 22-year-old producer, songwriter, and performer from Brooklyn left Pharrell Williams visibly stunned during a master class at NYU last year. Since that moment, Maggie Rogers has released her debut EP Now That The Light is Fading featuring the breakout track “Alaska”, which has over 31 million streams on Spotify. With sold out tours across the US, U.K., and Europe this Spring, Maggie has established a strong global presence as a live performer. Rogers has also been featured on a number of 2017 Watch Lists and has performed live on the BBC, Late Night Starring Jimmy Fallon, and The Late Late Show with James Cordon.

Rogers has been developing her musical style and sound over many years. Time spent clubbing through Europe influenced her to mix more electronic sounds, synth based tracks, and gentle R&B undertones with her previous folk music influences. Blending sounds of nature with studio instruments, Rogers showcases her wide range of interests in her debut EP, a truly wonderful glimpse at an emerging young artist with many great things to come.

BISHOP BRIGGS

Presented by Secret Sounds and Live Nation

LA based singer/songwriter Bishop Briggs is a buzz artist impossible to ignore. Not many new artists can say they’ve scored over 40 million Spotify plays without dropping an album, but it’s thanks to her wholly unique sound on hit singles ‘River’, ‘Wild Horses’ and more recently ‘The Way I Do’ which The FADER calls “a mix of trap-indebted drums and vocals burning with the fire of Dusty Springfield”.

Bishop Briggs’ rise to success may seem to have happened overnight, but the rising star has been perfecting her singing and songwriting since she was old enough to carry a tune. Her voice has grit and heft, putting her in the lineage of female vocalists such as Janis Joplin, Florence Welch, Aretha Franklin, and Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard.

THE LEMON TWIGS

Presented by Secret Sounds and The Music

Once or twice every generation, Long Island introduces the world to artists of such singular originality that they change the very nature of their art: Lou Reed; Jim Brown; Robert Mapplethorpe; Andy Kaufman. With their debut album, Do Hollywood, The Lemon Twigs have earned themselves a spot on that list. Fusing tightly constructed pop, sophisticated orchestration, and British invasion melodies into a ten-song masterpiece, the D’Addario brothers— Brian (20) and Michael (18)—are whipping fans and critics alike into an utter frenzy. Having just taken out the coveted Grulke Prize for Developing US Act at this year’s SXSW, and being hailed by NME as “the future of rock ‘n’ roll”, The Lemon Twigs will be stamping their flamboyant sound on Australian audiences for the first time, coming off the back of playing some of the world’s largest festivals including Coachella and Glastonbury. This is your chance to see one of 2017’s most exciting acts, playing Australia for the first time.

LANY

Presented by Secret Sounds

When the LA-based trio LANY first came together in 2014, their only aim was to work on a couple of tracks, demo them, and have fun in the process. What they didn’t realise was that they were about to enter that elusive dream state of being discovered! They wrote and recorded two songs, put them online, six days later the band found themselves fielding emails from major-label suitors. Their single ILYSB exploded online, and the band have not looked back. Writing beautiful songs with swashes of synth, spare percussion, echoes of prime 1980s FM pop, early-1990s R&B, and new-wave electronica. Combining melody and lyrics to put down roots in your head, and capture your heart. LANY make music that aims an arrow at your heart.
