Cat Power’s The Greatest is celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year and she will be returning to Australia and New Zealand in November for a run of special shows performing the seminal album in full, alongside songs spanning one of the most singular songbooks of the last three decades.
Recorded in Memphis with members of the legendary Hi Rhythm section, The Greatest saw Cat Power, aka Chan Marshall, step into the warm glow of Southern soul and make it entirely her own.
To mark the milestone of this classic, a 20th anniversary edition of The Greatest will be reissued on July 10 via Matador Records featuring a limited-edition re-print of the album’s original pink foil cover art, as well as pink vinyl.
The Australian and New Zealand tour encompasses shows in all major cities, as well as the nation’s capital, and even Geelong!
