It’s been four years since the release of Glenn Cardier’s highly acclaimed Stranger Than Fiction CD. The Australian singer-songwriter began laying down tracks for Cool Under Fire following his triumphant performance with his crack band The Sideshow at Bluesfest 2014. Cool Under Fire takes us for a cruise through the dark streets of Cardier’s old neighbourhood.

All the usual Sideshow suspects are there. Legendary guitarist Rex Goh sets fire to A Case Of Mistaken Identity and Good To Go. Phil Grove on piano and organ. Mick Malouf, upright bass. Davo Fester, drums and percussion. This time around, Cardier has invited some special guests to his home studio on the Hawkesbury River, NSW – the sassy vocals of Catherine Britt on the thumping title track, brass man Tony Gibson, Niksta on backing vocals, and Australia’s harmonica supremo Christian Marsh cuts loose on a number of tracks. Multi-instrumentalist Cardier plays everything else.
