Julian Lage is a genre-defying guitarist whose work explores the unique connection between classical music and the American folk tradition.
Acknowledged as one of the most prodigious guitarists of his generation, Lage has spent more than a decade searching through the myriad strains of American musical history via impeccable technique, free association, and a spirit of infinite possibility.
The California-born, New York-based musician blossomed into one of the most prolific and restless careers in contemporary music. Lage has collaborated with Gary Burton and John Zorn, undertaken duo projects with Nels Cline, Chris Eldridge, and Fred Hersch, and released a steady stream of recordings across a range of lineups and configurations.
Continuing the 10th anniversary celebrations of his breakthrough solo album World’s Fair (2015), and with his recently released Scenes From Above (2026), Lage shows no sign of slowing. The anniversary tour is marked with a new World’s Fair vinyl release and accompanying songbook.
