Middle Eats Markets Comes To Global Rhythms 2016

Come along to Global Rhythms and you’ll discover carefully selected food providers from different regions in the Middle East. Middle Eats founder Samir Ali explains “We’re hoping to showcase cuisine that mainstream hasn’t had access to before. Middle Eastern recipes that have been passed down through generations where food is an intrinsic part of the culture.” Their chefs are excited to be sharing the love of Middle Eastern hospitality to the Sydney community. “There’s a welcoming vibe to this region that just doesn’t get expressed enough in day to day newspapers and television.”

“I’ve got an Egyptian background” he says “and it’s always made me feel a little sad to see what I’ve experienced from my culture and the contrast between what the majority of people see in the media.” So when Samir was travelling between Saudia Arabia & Egypt for two months last year he decided to bring some of that beauty home. “That’s when the idea of Middle Eats came to fruition with our first markets during Eid in July.”

The response was so overwhelming he soon realised that they needed to do more to help change attitudes towards Arabs and Muslims. “We see Global Rhythms as the perfect platform for us to engage with a community who appreciates multiculturalism and loves what makes us diverse!”
