MORRISSEY THRILLS FANS AT SOLD OUT MELBOURNE SHOW – NEXT STOP ADELAIDE, CANBERRA, WOLLONGONG + NEWCASTLE

With the first date of his October tour taking place at Melbourne’s Festival Hall over the weekend, Morrissey – former frontman of The Smiths and one of the most influential figures in indie music – is proving once again just why he’s a living legend!

With a setlist that included such classics as ‘Meat Is Murder’, ‘Speedway’, ‘Suedehead’, ‘You’re The One For Me Fatty’, ‘You Have Killed Me’ and ‘How Soon Is Now?’, Saturday’s sold-out show was a razor sharp, passionate performance, full of superb charm and tight musicality.

His tour continues this week, with Morrissey playing his first ever show in Adelaide at the city’s Thebarton Theatre, followed by his first performances at Canberra’s Royal Theatre, Wollongong’s WIN Entertainment Centre and Newcastle’s Civic Theatre.

Attention people of Newcastle!

Five lucky Morrissey Newcastle ticketholders (and their ticketholding guests) have the chance to celebrate Halloween in the best way possible! Want to win a ghost tour? The Civic Theatre is said to be one of the most haunted sites in Newcastle. Opened in 1929, it’s seen its fair share of unusual sightings and has a resident ghost called “Joe” (who once had a long conversation with a former deputy Lord Mayor in the theatre stalls!).

After the Newcastle show, winners will be guided on a ghost tour by two of the country’s top female paranormal investigators, Renata Daniel from Newcastle Ghost Tours, together with Anne Rzechowicz.

Unfortunately Adelaide, Canberra and Wollongong venues are not haunted… you may not get a ghost tour, but one lucky ticketholder from these shows will win themselves a Morrissey merchandise pack that includes a ‘Be Kind To Animals’ tote bag, a ‘Haven’t Had A Dream’ pillowcase and a ‘Smug Mug’ mug.
