Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats recently wrapped up their maiden Australian tour which included appearances at Bluesfest, and sold out shows at 170 Russell in Melbourne and the Metro Theater in Sydney.
The band’s highly anticipated and highly successful debut Australian tour culminated with their self-titled debut album peaking at #1 on the Australian iTunes chart. This came off the back of a feature on 7.30 report on ABC News, where Nathaniel spoke to Monique Schafter about his strict Christian upbringing and how it influenced the evolution of his “Blue collar sort of hard working, sweaty music.” The segment aired on Tuesday night proclaiming Nathaniel and the band to be “capturing the world’s attention with their infectious blend of toe tappin’ gospel soul”. Watch the interview with Nathaniel here.
To coincide with the tour, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats also undertook a collaboration with local Sydney legends Young Henrys to concoct a very special “Moonshine” which was 100% created and distilled at the Young Henrys brewery in Newtown, and was launched by the band themselves on April 1.
