After a decade away from releasing an album, iOTA returns today with Hours Disappear, a self-produced acoustic collection that revisits songs from across his catalogue alongside new material. It follows 2016’s Wolf Number Nine and strips the arrangements back to focus on the songs and iOTA’s voice.
The album includes new versions of songs including “Home Song”, “Bitter Wine” and “Come Back For Me”, alongside new compositions such as “Silver Train” and “Same Three Words”. The first two tracks were issued as a double A-side, while the recently released “Come Back For Me” reworks one of iOTA’s earlier songs in a stripped-back acoustic setting.
Speaking about the song’s origins, iOTA says: “I was listening back to a cassette tape of random riffs I had recorded and knew that I had something cool when I heard the ‘Come Back’ chord progression.”
Hours Disappear is released via MGM Distribution on vinyl, CD and streaming platforms. iOTA will support the album with a series of solo acoustic shows around Australia from October through December.
