Paul Kelly & Charlie Owen, Hoodoo Gurus, Husky and Mia Dyson headline 2017 Riverboats Music Festival

It’s full steam ahead for the annual Riverboats Music Festival, with a stellar lineup set to perform by the sun-drenched banks of the Murray, led by Paul Kelly & Charlie Owen, Hoodoo Gurus, Husky and Mia Dyson alongside some of the most exciting names in Australian music.

Now in its sixth year, the Riverboats Music Festival returns to Echuca-Moama from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 February, for three glorious summer days of music amongst the gums. In addition to its remarkable headline acts, Riverboats 2017 bristles with homegrown talent including James Reyne, Cash Savage and the Last Drinks, Shane Howard, Melody Pool, William Crighton, The Meltdown, Mighty Duke & The Lords and Karl S. Williams. Also performing in a unique collaboration for Riverboats audiences, Kylie Auldist will be joined by New Zealand soul sensation Aaradhna.

Festival Director David Frazer said, “After five years, we are so proud that Riverboats has remained boutique in both its size and philosophy, yet continues to attract some of the most celebrated artists in Australian music. To be able to welcome artists including Paul Kelly and Charlie Owen to the banks of the Murray next February is a defining moment in the history of our festival, and we can’t wait for what promises to be a fantastic weekend under the red gums.

“In partnership with the historic Pride of the Murray, Riverboats is the only music festival in the country giving festival goers the opportunity to experience a one-hour music-laden cruise down Australia’s longest river. These one of a kind paddlesteamer sideshows will include intimate acoustic performances from award-winning blues songwriter Mia Dyson, celebrated folk-rock musician William Crighton, alt-country blues legends Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, and the brassy, soul steam train that is The Meltdown.

Riverboats is also thrilled to announce that 2017 will see the return of Rockwiz’s Brian Nankervis as the Festival’s official MC.
