Rhythms Is Under Old Management! Yes, like a musical prodigal child, Australia’s favourite roots music magazine has returned to its traditional home in Melbourne with Brian Wise as Editor. Now in its mid-20’s the magazine has come back home after leaving and exploring the world north of the border. While those northern shores and the warm weather were inviting, it realised that home is where the heart is. Luckily, its old bedroom was not turned into a rumpus room, study or fancy second bathroom, so it will still have somewhere to stay on cold winter nights. It has promised to stay for some time and not only continue in the print and digital editions but boost the online presence as well. It has promised to write to us more often and to keep in contact more. A whole bunch of new writers have joined the crew as well and are looking forward to talking to you.
But Rhythms needs your help to survive. It needs your subscription to pay its own way. In case you were in any doubt, your subscription is absolutely vital to the magazine’s continued survival. We have had to lay down the law. No more freeloading. We’ve been kicking it out the door each morning telling it to get more subscribers.
From the September/October issue onwards every subscriber will receive a regular free Rhythms curated CD, with tracks handpicked from the Rhythms staff to provide you with a feast of new and old music. Not just one CD a year but as many as 4 between now and next May.
As well, as that we plan to have regular giveaways of albums, concert and festival tickets and other spiffy products to make your membership worthwhile.
