Turn your heartbreak into joy by entering Mullum Music Festival’s ‘Break-up’ songwriting competition.

Breaking up is never easy, we know, but Mullum Music Festival is giving you the chance to turn that heartbreak into joy by entering the ‘Play Mullum’ songwriting competition for a chance to perform at this year’s festival. The theme this year is ‘Break Up Songs’. He/she may have left you and taken the dog but what better pay-back than to perform your break-up song before hundreds of people at Mullum Music Festival.

Presented by Rhythms Magazine your original song will be judged by the editorial team. So get writing and recording (a simple video recorded on a mobile phone will do) or send your already themed song in to the Play Mullum ‘Break-up’ Songwriting Competition for your chance to win a 30 min performance at the festival on Sunday 20th November and a double pass. Head to www.mullummusicfestival.com for full details and application forms.

Each year the theme of the Play Mullum Songwriting Competition is different. Previous Play Mullum winners include Nicole Cross in 2015 for her song ‘White Walls’ that responded to the theme ‘One Day Can Change Everything’; Dan Hannaford in 2014 for his Protest Song ‘Payday’ and Bill Jacobi in 2013 for his song ‘Ride’ in response to the theme ‘Hitting The Road’.

Play Mullum Break-Up Songwriting Competition closes 26 October, 2016. For applications visit www.mullummusicfestival.com
