Australian Country artist Catherine Britt today releases “F U Cancer” a charity single written with Beccy Cole and Lyn Bowtell with proceeds going to the McGrath Foundation. Conceived during the “F U Cancer Shows” the catchy upbeat tune with a simple message features Kasey Chambers, Beccy Cole, Lyn Bowtell, Josh Pyke, Wes Carr & Wendy Matthews,.

After a crazy year last year of battling and surviving Breast Cancer I was overwhelmed with the love and support I received from my friends and peers. The McGrath Foundation, in particular the McGrath nurses and Glen McGrath have been an amazing support and it’s been so appreciated. Last year I held a series of concerts around Australia called “F U Cancer Tour” With the help of my friends in the industry and the fans who came along to the shows we raised over $10,000.00 for the McGrath Foundation. Beccy Cole & Lyn Bowtell came to me while we were performing in Tamworth with this song idea and I couldn’t keep the smile off my face. I added some touches to the song and we decided to record it with some of my friends and guests from the show – Kasey Chambers, Beccy Cole, Lyn Bowtell, Josh Pyke, Wes Carr & Wendy Mathews. This song is for all of the fighters, survivors and ones who have lost a love one to the dreaded disease” – Catherine Britt

At the tender age of 30 and just two weeks after the launch of Catherine’s Boneshaker album, the Award Winning Artist was diagnosed with stage 2A Breast Cancer. Tackling the indiscriminate disease head on, the singer songwriter underwent 12 months of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. The year was one of massive personal career highs and accolades marred only by the often-crippling effects of the treatment forcing the songstress to reduce her touring and appearances due to required rest. Spurred by her desire to bring attention to educating fans to check themselves and also raise funds to help find a cure, Britt brought together her friends for the East Coast  ‘F U Cancer Tour’ in March this year.
