BELLO WINTER MUSIC FESTIVAL 2017 (July 6-9)
ANNOUNCES FULL LINE UP
Bello Winter Music has announced the lineup for the third festival in the beautiful NSW town of Bellingen, filling the streets, halls, pubs and cafes with music and performance from all around Australia and the world from the 6th – 9th of July 2017.
Celebrating their 25th year, the pioneers of Aotearoa dub and bass music SALMONELLA DUB are heading over the Tasman Sea to join an exciting mix of emerging and established acts including Austin/Texas singer/songwriter JOE PUG returning for a national tour, BEN OTTEWELL who continues to carve out an impressive solo career outside UK band Gomez, Melbourne’s HUSKY, with a swag of new songs from their highly anticipated new album, ‘Late Night Store’ due out in November, and rising US star COURTNEY MARIE ANDREWS whose 2016 album ‘Honest Life’ was named by Rolling Stone as one of the top 40 country albums of the year.
Also appearing are revered lo-fi folk trio TINPAN ORANGE, nomadic pop/punk logomaniac BEC SANDRIDGE, highly danceable group The SENEGAMBIAN JAZZ BAND, a new collaboration with MAMA KIN + SPENDER, and Bellingen’s very own JACK CARTY, with a debut performance of his upcoming album with GUS GARDINER & THE SATELLITE STRINGS.
Melbourne’s future soul and hip-hop collective 30/70 deliver their hypnotic grooves, whilst soul singer, rapper and spoken word artist RADICAL SONbrings his band and powerful performance to Bello for the first time. From the small town of Warrandyte, Victoria, the incredible soul drenched TESKEY BROTHERS are one of many emerging acts to discover, along with the hit of the Adelaide Fringe Festival, UKULELE DEATH SQUAD.
Catch a rare glimpse of old-time sing-song man ARCHER and be enchanted by LEAH SENIOR, the only folk artist on the psychedelic rock label Flightless. And when it is time to cut shapes on the dance floor, 80’s funk/boogie group VAUDEVILLE SMASH will take you there with their explosive flute, sax and synth laden grooves.
Taking place in the middle of the NSW school holidays, Bello Winter Music is a whole-town festival packed with family-friendly activities. As well as the music, Bellingen comes alive with street theatre, markets, circus and walking tours. The festival features Bellingen LeaF, a sustainability focused program of workshops available at no extra cost to festival goers, and the hugely successful Youth Mentorship Program which gives aspiring, young musicians the invaluable opportunity to receive mentorship from an established artist from the lineup and to perform at the festival.
If this sounds like a dream weekend to you, be sure to jump online ASAP to secure your ticket. With the festival selling out two years running, 2017 is unlikely to be any different.
