Applications are now open for Bello Winter Music Youth Mentorship Program where emerging artists under 19 years of age are mentored by established artists on the festival bill.
The selected young artists from each category (Singer Songwriter, Band, Vocal, Under 15years) will get a rehearsal session with their mentor, a 20 minute performance at the festival with their mentor backstage, the opportunity to watch their mentor perform from backstage and a weekend pass to the festival.
This year’s mentors are Festival Patron Jack Carty who will mentor the winner of the Singer Songwriter category; globetrotting, award-winning duo Hussy Hicks will mentor the winner in the Band category; alt-country songstress Sara Tindley, who is set to release a new album in the lead up to Bello, will mentor the Vocal winner; and Ben Wilson, member of the notorious Button Collective, will mentor the Under 15years winner.

Past success stories of the Bello Winter Music Youth Mentorship Program include The Brothers who took out the Band category in the inaugural 2015 program and went on to be booked for official festival line up in 2016 as well as this year. Further highlights include the special bond between 2016 Vocal mentor Jo Jo Smith and winner River Boyce who stunned organisers and audiences with her soulful performance in 2016, as well as the exceptional Marni Besley who won fans with an unforgettable opening night performance in 2016 and her own brilliant set with guidance from her Singer Songwriter mentors Miss Eileen and King Lear.
