Ben Camden Releases Single ‘Last Night’ (Out May 4) – Rhythms exclusive premiere!

This Sydney-based singer-songwriter, Ben Camden, is stirring big grins on bright faces with his deep, ominous and looming vocal tone over this strutting blues-rock beat that bolsters this new single ‘Last Night’ (out 4th of May)

‘Last Night’ follows the release of the first single ‘Strawberry Jam’ off his forthcoming EP ‘Caroline’, expected to be released later this year. When released in December 2018, ’Strawberry Jam’ quickly turned heads and found itself on Triple J, Double J, and community radio playlists.

As a result, Ben went on an extensive tour where he also had the opportunity to support both Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus) and Colin Hay (Men At Work).

Ben hastily dove back into the studio – a converted concrete rain tank – to record and collaborate with Govinda Doyle (Angus & Julia Stone – ‘Big Jet Plane’) on this new single ‘Last Night’. What emerged was an upbeat rock track that finds a place sonically and stylistically in between The Doors and the Chili Peppers.

‘Last Night’ is ultimately a culmination of Ben’s influences and is a showcase of his wide range of song-writing capabilities. Touching on blues, rock, folk and even country, this new single is one that pertains a bit of grit, confidence and swagger that is easily imbibed and revigorating.

Riddled with attitude, it may make sense to the listener that this track is quite personal to Ben. Camden explains:

“This is quite personal…It’s about a girl who I have a lot of history with. I was visiting her in Europe last July and wrote it about me still having the same feelings for her.”

Ben Camden will be taking the new single on an East-coast tour through May and June. Find all tour information below.
