“SUNRISE IN TEXAS” MUSIC VIDEO PREMIERES AT CMT, ACCLAIMED BAND PERFORMS “WAITING FOR THE THUNDER” ON “LATER…WITH JOOLS HOLLAND”
Blackberry Smoke’s acclaimed new album Like An Arrow debuts this week at No. 1 on both Billboard’s Country Albums and Americana Albums charts as well as No. 3 on Billboard’s Rock Albums chart. Additionally, in the U.K., the album debuts this week at No. 1 on the Rock Albums and Independent Albums charts. This is the band’s second consecutive No. 1 album, following 2015’s Holding All the Roses, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and No. 8 on the Billboard Rock Albums chart.
In celebration of the release, the band recently performed the album’s lead track, “Waiting For The Thunder,” on the BBC’s “Later…with Jools Holland.” Additionally, last week, the official music video for “Sunrise in Texas” premiered exclusively at CMT. Watch the full video HERE.
The band is currently in the midst of an extensive nationwide tour, including a date at New York’s Beacon Theatre (presented by Sirius/XM’s Outlaw Country channel) on November 18. See below for complete tour itinerary.
Recorded just outside of the band’s native Atlanta at The Quarry Recording Studio in Kennesaw, GA, the 12-track album was self-produced and features special guest Gregg Allman on the album’s closing track, “Free On The Wing.”
Since their debut in 2001, the 5-piece band—consisting of Starr (lead vocals, guitar), Richard Turner (bass, vocals), Brit Turner (drums), Paul Jackson (guitar, vocals), and Brandon Still (keyboards)—has released four full-length studio albums.
Known for their impressive live performances, Blackberry Smoke has toured relentlessly, building a strong and loyal community of fans. In addition to performing hundreds of headlining shows across the country each year, the band has also toured with artists including Zac Brown Band, Eric Church and ZZ Top.
