Blood, Sweat and Tears, the iconic American jazz-rock band from the late 60s and 70s return to Australia March 2017 for a national tour.
It’s been more than four decades since drummer/producer Bobby Colomby and friends assembled the first group to successfully blend rock and jazz into a genre-crossing sound and style. YOU’VE MADE ME SO VERY HAPPY, SPINNING WHEEL, AND WHEN I DIE, HI-DO-HO THAT OLD SWEET ROLL, LUCRETIA MAC EVIL – timeless, classic and, most importantly, enduring, these are songs that sound-tracked a generation and continue to live as some of the greatest and most anthemic in music history. All – and many, many others – were recorded by BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS, the pioneering American jazz/funk/soul/blues/rock’n’roll group who formed in the halcyon days on the late 1960s and continue to this day.
The current lineup is fronted by Bo Bice. Best remembered from American Idol, Season four (he was the runner up to Carrie Underwood), Bo impressed the public and Blood, Sweat and Tears management with his performance of Spinning Wheel. With his natural southern rock charm and a power voice, Bo has joined an impressive lineup of musicians that include Carl Fisher (lead trumpet and musical director), Brad Mason (second trumpet), Dan Levine (trombone), Ric Fierabracci (Bass) and Glen McClelland (Keyboards) – to name only some of the incredible musicians in the current BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS line-up.
