Blue grass legends Punch Brothers queensland debut- ekka holiday eve

American Grammy® Award nominated Bluegrass quintet, Punch Brothers will perform in Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s (QPAC’s) Concert Hall on Tuesday 9 August 2016, in their first ever visit to the Sunshine State.

Unbound by notions of genre, Punch Brothers’ collaborative and porous approach to music making results in an extraordinary and dynamic performance laced with breathless motion and humour.

Punch Brothers unique combination of vocals/mandolin (Chris Thile), guitar (Chris Eldridge), bass (Paul Kowert), banjo (Noam Pikelny), and violin (Gabe Witcher) is an inspiring sound that inhabits a unique space across indie rock, folk, jazz, bluegrass and classical music genres.

This world-class outfit returns to Australia after their popular tour in 2012.  They will play tunes from their latest album, the T Bone Burnett-produced The Phosphorescent Blues, along with plenty of selections from their catalogue.

Don’t miss Punch Brothers in QPAC’s Concert Hall for one night only on the eve of the Ekka Public Holiday, Tuesday 9 August 2016.Tickets are on sale now. To book go to qpac.com.au or phone 136-246.
