Jack Johnson has today announced that he will be returning to Australia this December, to tour his upcoming album All The Light Above It Too.

Johnson will perform a series of shows in outdoor venues across Australia, including the Sydney Opera House Forecourt, the Riverstage in Brisbane, Kings Park and Botanic Gardens in Perth, and Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne. Johnson’s last tour of Australia was in 2013, and this time round he will be joined by Bahamas.

All The Light Above It Too is Johnson’s seventh studio album. The announcement elaborated:

“All The Light Above It Too is the seventh studio album for the multi-platinum- selling singer/songwriter and the follow- up to 2013’s From Here to Now to You. This latest offering finds Johnson returning to the stripped-back, home-grown feel of the four-track recordings that launched his career more than 17 years ago. While his long-time bandmates Adam Topol (drums), Merlo Podlewski (bass) and Zach Gill (piano) accompanied him on several tracks, Johnson handled most of the instrumentation on his own, sculpting many of the songs around his graceful guitar performance. All The Light Above It Too will be released here on September 8.”

Johnson recently spoke with Rhythms Magazine and the full feature will be in the upcoming issue of Rhythms (November/December). Stay tuned for more information on Jack Johnson’s tour and upcoming album.
