James Kenyon Takes New Album ‘Imagine You Are Driving’ On The Road

Melbourne based singer-songwriter James Kenyon is rather appropriately taking his latest album Imagine You Are Driving on the road for a national tour.

‘Imagine you are Driving’ is the soundtrack to an as yet unmade great Australian road movie. Think of a road trip with Paul Kelly and Don Walker up front with Bruce Springsteen (circa Nebraska) and Iron & Wine in the back seat. Emotive, harsh, dry, beautiful and poetic, this is a striking, finely crafted album that is haunting and captivating all at once.

Following up his critically acclaimed 2012 debut album The North Pole, Kenyon collaborated with some of Melbourne’s finest musicians for his latest record, including Luke Richardson, Matt Dixon, John Bedgood, Nick O’Mara, Brooke Russell, Broads and many more, and he spent over 2 years crafting it all with producer Nick Huggins.

On the back of the album’s release and its successful October 8 launch show at the Toff in Town, Kenyon will be playing rural venues, intimate city shows and festivals. Dates will be staggered across the states and months, beginning at the Swagger Festival in Victoria on October 21, with headline shows in Canberra, Sydney, Maitland, Bellingen and Brisbane in December 2016.
