Kamasi Washington Announces Fearless Movement Australian Tour

Acclaimed US multi-instrumentalist, composer, bandleader and neo-jazz icon Kamasi Washington returns to Australia in June for a series of very special live dates.

Emmy and Grammy nominated Kamasi Washington is one of the most revered figures in modern music. His three bodies of work to date – The Epic; Harmony of Difference, an EP originally commissioned for the 2017 Whitney Biennial; and Heaven and Earth – are among the most acclaimed of this century. Washington has toured the world over and collaborated and shared stages with Kendrick Lamar, Florence + the Machine, Herbie Hancock – with whom he will curate the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Fest for the second year in a row – and many more.

Washington will be joined by special guest, up and coming Australian artist Micah Heathwood, on his Sydney and Melbourne dates. A name familiar to many in the underground jazz circles of Australia, Heathwood possesses a diverse and formidable skillset as a jazz drummer by trade, but with a strong sensibility for hybrid electronic sounds.
