New Album Something Rare And Beautiful To Arrive On June 23rd.
Geelong, VIC alt-country and Australian Americana artist Nathan Seeckts has released a clever and hilarious video clip for the first single from his forthcoming album Something Rare And Beautiful, out June 23rd.
In 2019 Seeckts released his debut album The Heart Of The City, an album that was nominated for Country Album of The Year at the 2019 Music Victoria Awards and which delivered on the promise of numerous live shows and a string of EPs across the preceding decade.
Now, three years later, we get to hear the next exciting step in the evolution of one of this country’s finest alt-country songwriters.
‘The Wildest Thing’ (which premiered with Henry Wagons on Double J’s Tower of Song and on Sunburnt Country) is a stellar first single that immediately hits an alt-country sweet spot with twanging guitar and a wistful, rolling rhythm. With Nathan’s soulful growl and barrel-chested voice at the helm, the song tumbles forth on its glorious vocal and guitar melodies.
“This song is about the wildest girl that I ever met,” Nathan reveals. You can hear that free-spirited seduction as he looks back in this ode to a youthful, head-over-heels moment. “It was a whirlwind romance borne under neon and moonlight.”
The video clip for the song takes a humorous and fun swing at the marketing of art and creativity in the consumer driven world, in an irreverent and goofy style reminiscent of iconic clips by Foo Fighters, Beastie Boys/Spike Jonze.
‘The Wildest Thing’ is out now via Heartland Music Australia on Bandcamp, streaming services and AMRAP for our community radio friends across Australia.
