WILLIAM CRIGHTON ANNOUNCES EAST COAST TOUR & 7-INCH VINYL RELEASE

Hope Recovery is William Crighton’s hypnotic new recording, courtesy of a limited edition 7-inch vinyl and digital single of the same name, due for release on March 31.

To coincide with this new release, the acclaimed songwriter will perform a string of dates along the East Coast of Australia, throughout May and June.

William Crighton’s vision behind the Hope Recovery live performances is anticipated to be a musical feast for those that attend. Crighton explains, ‘I don’t want to give too much away… Expect a host of special guests and a mixture of unplugged and electric sounds, but essentially it’ll be unlike anything else we’ve ever done.’

After what can only be termed as a breakout year in 2016, Crighton has launched into 2017 with a flurry of amazing festival performances at WOMADelaide, Blue Mountains Folk Festival, Skyfields Tasmania and Riverboats Echuca earlier last month. So far in 2017, he’s played alongside great names such as Paul Kelly, Neil Finn, The Beach Boys and The Temptations.

Respected Australian music journalist Iain Shedden, of The Australian, described Crighton’s Tamworth Regional Art Gallery appearance in glowing terms: “Once in a lifetime a gig surpasses all expectations, slapping you in the face with its grace, majestic singing, the quality of the material, and, in this instance, the acoustic ambience of the venue… [it] demonstrated music’s power to stir the heart and soul. In my all-time Top 10 that one.”

Hope Recovery sees the Riverina native collaborate once again with producer and drummer Matt Sherrod of Crowded House. The music on this latest release was recorded throughout rural locations of East Coast NSW.

The limited edition 7-inch vinyl, numbered, signed and posted by Crighton himself, along with the digital version (presented as an 8.46-minute track) will be released on March 31 via ABC Music/Universal.

A further announcement for Hope Recovery will follow on March 31, detailing the production and emphasis behind the limited-edition release. The track will be premiered on Double J.

In April, William Crighton will head to Canada for showcase performances at Canadian Music Week and East Coast Music Week, before returning to Australia to carry out the Hope Recovery tour.
